The first consultation will be a little bit different from the others. It is what is known as an assessment and is a bit different in nature compared with subsequent consultations. It will involve being asked numerous questions in order for me to gain a better understanding of what is going on for you. It will allow me to then start formulating a plan of how to best move forward.
Expect to be treated respectfully and as though you are the expert of your life. We will work at your own pace and in line with your values. Psychotherapy with Anxiety Mentor is practical, straightforward, and based on easy to understand principles.
This will depend upon how complex the issues are and how committed you are to the therapeutic process.
In order to get the most out of therapy it will be necessary to do some work outside of the therapy room. This will include some reading, writing, relaxation exercises, and behavioural experiments. To be successful in therapy it will require you to be an active participant in the process.
If you are attending the practice, please arrive on time. We understand how important time is to people and therefore you will never be kept waiting. You will be seen on time, every time. If your consultation is via Zoom or phone the consultation will commence on time.
Absolutely! We have clients from all around the world. We will meet via Zoom. If you have never used Zoom before, please let us know and we can guide you through setting it up.
